The collection consists of mining reports, drafts, maps, and notes of the firm Adelberg & Raymond (New York, N.Y.) for Georgia mines from 1844-1867. Mines and properties include Adelberg Gold Company (Cobb County, Ga.); Brolley mine (Cherokee County, Ga.); Dr. B. Hamilton property (Cobb County, Ga.); Lewis property (White County, Ga.); and the Judge Strong mine (Cobb County, Ga.). Reports contains sections describing the mines' location, the area's terrain, climate, and geology; an analysis of the gold vein; a mining plan; and an economic view often containing information on the cost of labor, materials, and proposed output. The report for the Lewis mine also includes a history of Georgia mining. Several of the drafts are signed by Dr. Hermann Credner of Ackworth (Cobb County, Ga.).

The collection consists of a ledger with three sections. The first and largest section concerns the Sons of Temperance, Cane Creek Division in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Included are rules of order, constitution, names of members and their occupations, and accounts of members, from 1852-1855. The second section contains four pages of minutes of the Stephenson Gold Mining Company, Dahlonega, Georgia, from 1861. The third section contains the constitution, by-laws, list of members, and minutes of the Dahlonega Debating Society, Dahlonega, Georgia, from 1871.

Additional subjects covered include Savannah's economy during the War of 1812, gold mining in Georgia, and the sale of people he enslaved.

Also included in the collection is a box of oversized items which includes Margaret J. Paris' dependency application, small scrapbook with watercolors by M. Johnston, ice bag from Gainesville Ice and Fuel, issues of the Presbyterian College newspaper, and other assorted items.

The collection consists of mostly photocopied articles from various historical agencies, some original correspondence, maps, photographs, and newspaper articles relating to subjects Mr. Davis has written about. Included are materials about Georgia's participation in the Texas Revolution; Charles Cole Hind and Aetna Insurance; and miscellaneous Georgia material (especially historic Georgia houses). The first deposit relates to Georgia's participation in the Texas Revolution. There is general soldier information, rosters, maps, flags, and photographs, plus specific information on James W. Fannin and William A. Ward. The Charles Cole Hind and Aetna Insurance material concerns Georgia and Alabama. Mrs. Hind, as the insurance representative, made pre-Civil War building insurance surveys in the two states; xeroxes of the surveys are in this collection. There is also a copy of the book of instruction for agents & a bound copy of The 100 Years of Fire Insurance..., the history of Aetna from 1819-1919. Finally, selections from the miscellaneous Georgia material include: information about the Harris-Pearson-Walker House in Augusta, Carter's Quarters (National Register house) in Murray County, gold mining in Georgia, and materials gathered on the history of Clinton and other places in Georgia.
